WHAT WE DO…

These families live an isolated, secluded life. They are their own subculture which makes it challenging to connect with them because theirs is very different from our culture. It requires sensitivity and patience to connect with them and to reach them with the Gospel.

So how do we do this?

Just as Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians, Chapter 9:

I became all things to all people that I might win some.

So we strive to do the same – going among the people in our neighbor community – we demonstrate to them our faith in Christ and how he leads us all together in our lives.

Every Monday through Friday we provide breakfast for  30 and 50 children. Our lunch program reaches 50 to 70 children. What a great experience, and a way to show that we, in following Christ, joyfully share what we have.

We provide aid in education, with a small on-site elementary school, and going into their school in the community. We love to see these children grow and open themselves to a new world – with Christ, and with our brothers and sisters.

He carries us when we are experiencing difficult times, we can help this community by carrying their children to and from school.

It’s the little things – many things that we take for granted, but mean so much to those who haven’t had the opportunity to experience them. We show we care by providing hygienic solutions to the community: lice care, regular haircuts, clean clothes, products to maintain a healthier lifestyle.

In keeping with the things we take for granted, who goes through clothes faster than a child? Help us  provide clothing in to the children in sizes 2-12.

There is always a need among all of God’s children for medical care – and yet so many things, so readily available to us, are limited in this community. So we provide over-the-counter medicines like Pepto-Bismol, Imodium, ibuprofen, etc. We can’t multiply loaves and fishes, but we can keep a steady supply of these items to help the community.

Jesus spent his time with this flock, teaching by example. There is nowhere his lessons can’t be shared. So, besides showing we care in school and everyday life, we share His lessons by taking members of the community out for fun – trips to the beach and to parks.
